voter pride : reply

I think fact that in the last 4 years especially, social networking has taken a huge leap in technological advancement. Its used to advertise, connect people and express opinions. I think the fact this has happened, many younger generations are getting more involved politically and with organizations. It makes it a lot easier to connect (and argue) with people no matter how good of "friends" you are with someone. In MN the voter turn out rate increased this year due to the amendments. They were aimed at younger, more liberal generations and because they were such huge topics they received a lot of publicity. Social Networking increased the awareness of these amendments. While one went to go vote on amendments, they most likely voted on the presidential campaign as well. Though opinions can be heard widely on social networking sites, they also can raise mass amounts of tension and even wars via twitter/facebook. After adding my two cents on the matter, I for one strayed away from facebook and twitter.

GOP governors believe they lost on strategy

A recent article on NPR'S webpage elaborates on why the GOP lost. It quotes GOP governors who believe that it wasn't on issues that they lost votes but strategy. One thing discussed here was that 70% of hispanics voted for the president because of Republican's positions on immigration rights was rejected by republican governors. Governor of North Caroline Pat Mcroy believes the GOP needs to campaign harder. He is also  quoted in the article believing that this years election wasn't as much about being democrat or republican, but people looking for a leader. What do you think? Was it really like this for you? Or was this still a fairly bi partisan election season?
