Check out this short article above. It mentions President Obama visiting the damaged areas of New York and the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. What do you think of the victim's comment about the unecessary appearance of the President? What do you think about the responses from Mr. Bloomberg and Mr. Christie? What type of approach should be taken regarding future Natural disasters? Any other thoughts regarding this article?

The Tables continue to Turn
http://www.kare11.com/news/elections/politics/article/998241/222/Ousted-from-power-Minn-GOP-ponders-Capitol-role
The election results put the Democratic party in some major power at the Minnesota State Capitol. The House, Senate and Governor position(s) have been filled with a Democratic Party member leaving the Republicans outnumbered. This short article just relays the information and poses some interesting questions. How do you think the Republicans will respond to their lack of power? Will there be more or less cooperation between the parties? What will we want to avoid or look forward to with the Democrats in power? Do you think it would be different if it were Republicans in complete charge?

Obama wins due to 'Urban Cities'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw4NJ4CJk04
Watch this video. Do people agree with this?
Ryan claimed that the President got "record breaking turnout" in urban cities but that wasn't the only thing that was the downfall to their race.
What are some other thoughts people have on why Romney/Ryan lost?
Voter Pride
I don't know if it was because this is the first year I voted, or because of an increase in social media since the last election, but it seemed that voter pride was WAY stronger this year than I have ever noticed before.
People were posting about the election nonstop on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and other sites and blogs all day last Tuesday. I personally tend to get sick of events that are overhyped, but I really appreciated how much everyone was showing their love for our country.
This is a link to a set of pictures people posted on Twitter and Instagram that represent the different celebrations and feelings people were having due to the election. There are people all over celebrating and sharing the good vibes:

I find this entire topic interesting because this widespread pride would not be anywhere near as noticeable without social media sites. Facebook started out as a way for college students to connect, and it has now turned into a place where you can present your views to everyone you know.
What do you think? Is American pride on the rise, or do you think that social media sites have simply made it easier to show?
Did you guys like all of the interaction on these sites, or did you decide to delete your account for a day?

Sounds like another ridiculous American Revolution...
Gawker.com recently came out with an article reporting on a new Petition group known as "We The People" which includes nineteen states pledging to secede from the union....um...what? This to me is utterly ridiculous. Neetzan Zimmerman, writer of the article, calls it a "toothless temper tantrum thrown by armchair revolutionaries." I could not agree more, your thoughts?
Next Step
Do you think Minnesota is ready to legalize gay marriage? The amendment failed so isn't the next step legalizing gay marriage? However, personally I don't think this next step will go through so easily. Minnesota will have to amend the amendment that says marriage is between a man and a woman. Do you think we will see this the next general election?

General Petraeus: FBI investigates CIA
Hearing about this affair involving the director of the CIA David Petraeus got me thinking and investigating about the whole ordeal. According to the video, there have been multiple CIA members that have had extramarital affairs with other women and none of them were investigated by anyone especially not the FBI. So, my question is why do you think that David Petraeus was investigated by the FBI? Considering that there have been other directors that have been in a similar situation but their affairs have just died off. The women who Petraeus was seeing is Paula Broadwell, a co-author of a biography book on Petraeus. Do you think there was a security breach and that is the reason for such actions? Is this really a matter of national security?
