Sounds like another ridiculous American Revolution...
Gawker.com recently came out with an article reporting on a new Petition group known as "We The People" which includes nineteen states pledging to secede from the union....um...what? This to me is utterly ridiculous. Neetzan Zimmerman, writer of the article, calls it a "toothless temper tantrum thrown by armchair revolutionaries." I could not agree more, your thoughts?

Meh, people did this for Pot and the even the "secret Whitehorse beer recipe". 10 percent of the country still thinks the sun goes around the earth so if it gets bigger than maybe we should take it seriously.
I have to agree with Erik. These petitions really don't have much of an impact on policy. If (relatively) minor issues like marijuana are routinely ignored or brushed off, then something huge like secession from the union will definitely not be taken seriously just because of an internet petition.
