GOP governors believe they lost on strategy

A recent article on NPR'S webpage elaborates on why the GOP lost. It quotes GOP governors who believe that it wasn't on issues that they lost votes but strategy. One thing discussed here was that 70% of hispanics voted for the president because of Republican's positions on immigration rights was rejected by republican governors. Governor of North Caroline Pat Mcroy believes the GOP needs to campaign harder. He is also  quoted in the article believing that this years election wasn't as much about being democrat or republican, but people looking for a leader. What do you think? Was it really like this for you? Or was this still a fairly bi partisan election season?
