Over Focused?

The subprime mortgage crisis has dominated the political news over the past month, leaving other political issues at the way side. Is this focus driven by the media, public demand for it, or the gravity of the crisis?

Should voters insist that the presidential nominees address other issues or does the media have a responsibility to ask questions about issues other than the economic crisis?

Both. I think that voters have a respoibility to want to know and not just trust politicians to tell us what we want to hear. but the media has a responsbility to report to the less informed voters who don't know what to ask.

I agree with vicki-Other issues should also be addressed and the people who are less informed aren't going to know what to ask the candidates. They will become more aware of other issues by listening to and reading the news, so the media has partial responsibility for asking questions and reporting about other issues.

I belive that the media is a company...trying to sell a product...news...the people will get the information from the cannidates that they want to hear.
