Palin's Speech
This evening Sarah Palin accepted the vice presidential nomination from the republican party. As she accepted the nomination she said the she "accepts the challenge of a tough fight" but is she really ready? With a pregnant teenage daughter at home and a young child with down syndrome, will she really have the capacity to handle the responabilties that comes with being vice president? Is she just a pretty face in the presidential race, a woman to get the Hilary supporters, or is she really qualifed to be vice president of the most powerful nation in the world?

I think she was an irrational pick for the vice presidential nomination. She has virtually no forign policy experience, and has had a reletivly short politically life as well. Although I can see numerous reason why Mcain would make such a hastey decision, becasue she may be able to target many groups that he could not, she is simply not the right woman for the job. Furthermore, if Mcain were to win the race in November I would be very frightened for our country with Palin as the next in line for comander and cheif of our country.
While I am not necessarily a supporter of McCain's, I feel it must be mentioned that Obama also has very little foreign policy experience, as well as being a newcomer to national politics. On the other hand, Biden, who I admittedly know very little about, seems to have a long career in politics, as well as being chair of the Committee of Foreign Relations in Congress, and to make my point a bit clearer: what Obama lacks in experience is made up by having a much longer-serving running mate, which is the opposite of what McCain has done.
I don't think that one speech is enough. She needs more time to show the American people if she can handle that office or not.
